The wireless guest network (WU-Guest) has been fully restored and is now functioning as intended.

WesternU IT engineers worked extensively with Cisco engineering resources to diagnose and resolve a complex underlying issue. This effort required sustained vendor engagement and in-depth troubleshooting to reach a permanent resolution. As a result, the guest portal now loads quickly and reliably, as designed. The portal has also been refreshed with WesternU branding, including updated colors and logos.

Final testing was completed this morning, and the system is operating normally.

Update

The wireless guest network has been restored to its previous operational state and is currently functional. Some minor delays may occur during initial connection; however, service remains stable once connected. We will continue working with Cisco to further improve this behavior. Any additional maintenance or downtime will be communicated. If issues are encountered, please contact TechSupport.

Update

WU-Guest wireless access has been restored, though intermittent connectivity issues may still occur. Users may experience a brief delay when connecting or may need to attempt the connection more than once. We are continuing to work with Cisco (sending them logs and working with their support engineers) to fully resolve this issue.

The wireless guest portal is still experiencing issues. A meeting is scheduled between a specialist engineer on the vendor (Cisco) side and WesternU IT engineers this morning. We hope to have more information later today.

Update

The wireless guest portal is expected to be down the remainder of the work day as any fix would require downtime for the entire wireless system (including eduroam). We will continue to try and identify alternatives and less customer impacting resolutions. We are likely to resolve the issue afterhours when wireless being heavily utilized.

We are currently experiencing an issue with wireless connectivity that may cause your device to disconnect when roaming between access points. If this occurs, you may need to reconnect to the network manually. We are actively working with our vendor to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we recommend remaining in a stationary location when feasible to help prevent your wireless connection from dropping.
